My name is Elaine M. Rudis Jackson and Pixel Surfers is my little spot on the net. I like to keep track of my adventures in web and graphic design, as well as my forays into using and theming PHP scripts like WordPress, phpBB, and Drupal. I am a huge fan of Open Source software of any kind. My obsessions currently include creating web sites in valid xhtml, web standards, semantic markup, CSS-based layouts (look ma! no tables!), and, recently, attempting to grok Drupal.
My background is in art, but I have had a fascination with computers ever since writing my first little programs in BASIC and playing Zork on my school’s Tandy 64 (yeah, that was a while ago). While I would like to make more contributions, more progress, and more websites than I do, it’s really a part-time venture for me. My day job is in the ever important domestic management and early childhood education sector. In other words, I’m a stay at home, home-schooling mom to three boys and a little girl. So if it seems like posts are few and far between you will know why!
