That’s right, I said baby steps. As in learning to walk again, and hopefully learning to FLY. If you have no clue what I’m talking about then you’ve never heard of Flylady, and it’s about time you learned. The Flylady is the invention of Marla Cilly, a motivation and home organizational guru for perpetually sidetracked people (ahem, as in, me). I’ve known about the Flylady for more than 2 years; I’ve subscribed to her emails for a year and a half. I’ve even had a few months here and there of using her method of morning, afternoon, and evening routines. But the perfectionist I am wouldn’t let me keep it simple. The routines got too complex, too detailed, and frankly contained more than 3 of me could do in one day. So I dropped it, of course, except to recieve the emails in the hopes I could pick it up again.
Well, I’ve decided that I’m really going to apply her advice to my life as a birthday present to myself, to help get my life, business, career, art, etc. all on the same track. And just yesterday, she emailed out a link to a page from another website called “Why Flylady is great for actors”. What I love about this little write up is that the author breaks down Flylady for creative people. It resonated so strongly with me; I’m very thankful for having seen it as it seems serindipitous to say the least to have such reinforcement at this particular moment.
